Make your first keepsake

1. Choose a photograph from your library, or try the included sample.
2. Pick Gallery, Keepsake, or Portrait. Adjust the format, mat, colors, and crop. A front caption and date are optional.
3. Add a place, a story, and handwriting on the back if you want. Save to your local collection.
4. Open the keepsake and export the front, the back, both sides, or an A4 PDF.

Your original photograph stays unchanged. The previews on this website are illustrative compositions, not screenshots of the app.

Use Framila offline

Creating, editing, saving, and exporting work offline. A photo stored only in iCloud must download to your device first; open it in Photos while connected before importing. Purchasing or restoring Premium needs a connection to Apple.

Fit or crop a photo

Use Fit to preserve the full photograph, or Fill to fill the photo area. With Fill, zoom and move the crop to keep what matters in view. The photo area changes with portrait, square, or landscape format.

Write on the back

The back can hold a place, a story of up to 1,200 characters, and handwriting. Open the handwriting canvas and write with your finger. Longer text scales to fit the exported back; the full story is also readable in the keepsake detail view.

Make a Then & now composition

Premium lets you combine two photographs, each with its own crop and date. Landscape places the photos side by side; portrait and square stack them. You can keep a shared caption and story with the finished piece.

Export, save, and print

Choose front, back, or both to export watermark-free PNG files. Standard exports are 1,600 pixels wide; active Premium adds 3,200-pixel exports. To save directly to Photos, allow Framila to add images when asked, or change its Photos permission in iOS Settings.

For printing, choose the two-page A4 PDF. It places the front and back on separate A4 pages with margins. Use the system share sheet to save to Files, share, or print. Sharpness depends on the original photo and crop; PDF artwork is rasterized. Framila does not sell physical frames or deliver prints.

Restore or manage Premium

Open the subscription page and choose Restore purchases while connected to the internet. Use the Apple Account associated with your purchase. To manage or cancel a subscription, use Apple’s subscription settings on your device.

Saved Premium designs remain editable and exportable when your subscription ends. Creating new Premium designs or changing to another Premium frame requires active access. High-resolution export requires active Premium.

Keep your library safe

The library is stored locally on your device, with no Framila account or cross-device sync. Device backups follow your iOS settings. Deleting the app can remove its local library, so export valuable keepsakes to Files or another location before removing Framila. Exports are finished images or PDFs, not an editable library backup.

Deleting a keepsake does not delete its original photo in Photos.

Devices and languages

Framila supports iPhone with iOS 17 or later. It follows your system language and supports English, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Norwegian Bokmål.

Tell us what happened

Please include your device model, iOS version, Framila version, and a short description of the issue. Include a screenshot if it helps and you’re comfortable sharing it. Leave out personal photos, private stories, and payment details.
