Pickkin Privacy Policy
Pickkin is an iOS app that uses AI to help with everyday decisions. In this Privacy Policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of Pickkin. This Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app and its related services.
1) Privacy highlights
- No account required. You can use Pickkin without creating an account or giving us your name, phone number, or email address.
- Your decision history is saved locally. Saved dilemmas, responses, and choices are stored locally. Pickkin does not currently offer cloud sync or recovery of this history.
- AI help uses remote services. When you request AI help, your dilemma and relevant context are sent to our service and third-party AI service providers. The app asks for your permission before the first AI request.
- No advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not serve third-party ads or track you across unrelated apps or websites.
- No sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising across unrelated apps or websites.
2) Information Pickkin handles
A) Information stored on your device
Pickkin stores your dilemmas, AI results, reactions, saved choices, optional next steps, dates, usage information, and app preferences on your device. It also stores service configuration and security credentials needed to operate the app. Decision records are excluded from device backup, so removing the app or losing the device may permanently remove them.
B) Information used for AI requests
When you request AI help, Pickkin sends your dilemma, relevant recent interactions from that decision, app language, and necessary technical information to our service and the third-party AI service providers handling the request. This context helps generate a question or suggestion. Other decisions in your local history are not included in that request.
Your submissions may contain personal information if you include it. Please avoid sending sensitive information or another person’s personal information without permission.
C) Technical information
Our service and providers process information needed to authenticate requests, protect the service, enforce service limits, and diagnose errors. This may include request times and identifiers, a device-derived identifier, app version, network information such as an IP address, response status, error and performance data, and AI provider or model information. Operational records are separate from the decision history stored on your device.
D) Purchases and support
Apple processes subscription payments. Pickkin receives product, transaction, and subscription-status information needed to provide Premium access. We do not receive your full payment-card details. If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you send.
3) How we use information
We use information as reasonably necessary to:
- provide the AI help you request and manage your local decision history;
- provide and manage subscription access;
- protect the service, prevent abuse, and enforce service limits;
- diagnose failures and maintain reliability;
- respond to support requests; and
- comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and users.
We ask for permission before transmitting your information for AI processing. You control future AI submissions by choosing whether to make another request.
4) When information is shared
We share information as needed for the purposes described in this Policy:
- Cloud and AI service providers host the service and process AI requests and relevant context to generate results.
- Operational service providers process technical records for hosting, security, logging, and troubleshooting.
- Apple processes in-app purchases and supports app integrity checks and service configuration.
- Legal and safety purposes: we may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate misuse or protect rights and safety.
AI providers’ retention and use of inputs and outputs, including possible model training or improvement, depend on applicable terms and service settings.
5) Retention and deletion
- Local decision records: retained on your device until you delete a record, remove the app or its data, or the device removes the data.
- AI request content: our backend is not a permanent library for your dilemmas or decision history. Service providers may retain request content and AI results under their applicable terms and policies.
- Technical logs: retained as reasonably needed for security, reliability, troubleshooting, or legal obligations.
- Support communications: retained while reasonably needed to respond and for appropriate follow-up or legal recordkeeping.
- Purchase records: retained by Apple under Apple’s policies and legal obligations.
You can delete individual decisions in the app or remove the app. Deleting local records does not automatically delete information already processed by service providers. Some local security credentials may remain after the app is removed.
6) Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information handled by the Service.
7) Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction or deletion of, or a copy of personal information held by us, and may have a right to appeal our response. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
To exercise applicable privacy rights or withdraw permission for future AI processing, contact us using the email below.
8) Age requirements
Pickkin is intended for people aged 18 and older.
9) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as Pickkin or legal requirements change. We will post the updated Policy and provide additional notice when required.
