Momentlet Privacy Policy
Momentlet (“Momentlet,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an iOS app that turns a description of a moment into an AI-generated image. In this Privacy Policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of Momentlet. This Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app and its related services.
1) Privacy highlights
- No account required. You can use Momentlet without creating an account or providing your name, phone number, or email address.
- Your Moment library is stored on your device. Momentlet does not currently provide cloud sync or cross-device recovery for generated Moments.
- Image generation requires remote processing. When you request an image, your description and selected visual style are sent to our service providers. Momentlet explains this remote processing before the first request.
- No advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not serve third-party ads or track you across apps or websites.
- No sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising across unrelated apps or websites.
- Saving and sharing are optional. Momentlet saves an image to Photos or opens the iOS Share Sheet only when you choose that action.
2) Information Momentlet handles
A) Information stored on your device
Momentlet stores generated images and their associated description, visual style, creation date, and favorite status on your device. It also stores app preferences, generation allowance information, cached service configuration, and security credentials needed to operate the app.
Momentlet does not currently provide cloud backup for your Moment library. Some security and allowance information is stored in the iOS Keychain and may remain according to Apple’s device and Keychain behavior, including after the app is removed.
B) Information used for image generation
When you request an image, Momentlet sends the following information for remote processing:
- the description you enter;
- the visual style you select; and
- technical information needed to authenticate and complete the request.
The generated image is returned to the app after a successful request. Your description may contain personal information if you choose to include it. Do not submit confidential information, another person’s personal information without permission, or material you are not authorized to use.
C) Technical information
Our services and providers may process limited technical information needed for security, reliability, and troubleshooting, such as request times and identifiers, app version, status and error codes, performance information, standard network information, and information used to verify legitimate app requests.
Our operational logs are designed not to include your description, generated image, image URL, or raw request content.
D) Purchases and support
Apple processes subscription payments. Momentlet receives information needed to determine subscription status, such as the product identifier, transaction status, and expiration information. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
If you contact us, we receive your email address, message, attachments, and any other information you choose to provide.
3) How we use information
We use information only as reasonably necessary to:
- generate the image you request;
- display and manage your local Moment library;
- provide and manage subscription features;
- protect the service, prevent abuse, and enforce generation limits;
- diagnose failures and maintain reliability;
- respond to support requests; and
- comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and users.
Where applicable, we process information to provide the service you request, with your consent when required, for legitimate interests such as security and reliability, or to comply with law. You control future image processing by choosing whether to submit another generation request.
4) When information is shared
We share information only as needed for the purposes described in this Policy:
- Cloud and image-generation providers process descriptions, selected styles, generated outputs, and necessary technical information to complete image requests.
- Operational service providers may process limited technical logs used for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.
- Apple services process subscription transactions and provide optional system features that you choose to use, such as Photos and the Share Sheet.
- Legal and safety disclosures may occur when reasonably necessary to comply with law, investigate fraud or abuse, enforce our terms, or protect rights and safety.
Providers may change as the service evolves. We require providers acting on our behalf to use information only for the services they provide and to maintain protections consistent with this Policy and applicable law.
5) Retention and deletion
- Local Moment library: retained on your device until you delete a Moment, remove the app or its data, or the device removes the data.
- Generation content: we do not use our backend as a permanent library for descriptions or generated images. Service providers may process or temporarily retain generation content under their applicable terms and policies.
- Technical logs: retained only when needed for security, reliability, or troubleshooting and, if retained by us, for no more than 3 days.
- Support communications: retained while reasonably needed to respond and for appropriate follow-up or legal recordkeeping.
- Purchase records: retained by Apple under Apple’s policies and legal obligations.
You can delete individual Moments in the app, decline or revoke Photos permission in iOS Settings, or remove the app. Removing the app generally removes its app-stored data, although some Keychain information may remain under iOS behavior.
You may contact us to request access to or deletion of applicable information held by us. Because Momentlet does not require an account and intentionally minimizes identifiers, we may not be able to associate a technical log with a particular person. We may ask for a limited time window or technical context needed to locate a relevant record.
6) International processing and security
Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those in your location. Where required, we use lawful safeguards for international transfers.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the service to protect the information we handle.
7) Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information, and to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local privacy or data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
To exercise a right, contact us using the email address below. Requests concerning Apple’s payment or purchase records should be directed to Apple.
8) Age requirements
Momentlet is not intended for individuals under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
9) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as Momentlet, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised Policy and provide additional notice when required.
